Our Memorial Day Holiday preparations begin with our Annual Cemetery Clean-up Day on Saturday, May 5. Volunteers, such as those pictured, will then place over 375 flags at the gravesites of all our Veterans. On Sunday, May 27 and Monday, May 28, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., volunteers from the Friends of Jacksonville's Historic Cemetery will be on site and available to assist families, friends and visitors with locating gravesites of loved ones. They will also be able to provide information and answer questions about the cemetery and the work of our organization in Jacksonville's Historic Cemetery.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet family and friends of those resting in the cemetery and learn more about their lives. It is a very rewarding experience for us, and those visiting leave knowing that the cemetery and their loved ones are being cared for.

2012 will mark our fifth year of offering this service to the community and our cemetery visitors.
